  1. Thank the Lord for this day and for all that is in it.
My times are in His hand.
My soul rests with Him, my Anamchara.

Well we celebrated yesterday and I paid the unexpected price last evening. I got so sick and had to throw up several times. I felt like I was going to die and as it continued I felt I really wouldn’t care if that was the only way relief would come.
But like is so often the case I stayed with the nausea and puking through several violent episodes until finally I declared, “Lord have mercy – Lord have mercy”. I didn’t have to vomit anymore after that and I understand from a medical point of view that perhaps I had puked up the offender so the quandary of what was going to happen anyhow and what happened by God’s grace continues.
It seems that our spiritual mentors believe and pass it on to us that once we choose to enter into spirituality, and to God’s expansive kingdom, grace surrounds us constantly. So does this mean we don’t have to pray for it and become more and more conscious of it? No, no, no!
Having experiences of God’s presence and action in our lives is a vital part.
Our 11th step declares that we seek through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understand him.

I asked myself and I’m sure others may wonder why I and we choose to continue on this spiritual journey which is our abiding prerogative under God’s grace but I feel such peace and wonder from time to time I wouldn’t give it up for anything.

    • When I am ill it is time for a gratitude list. I am grateful that vomiting is rare. It used to be an almost daily occurrence.

  2. Prayers, Bonnie, sent out asking for Infinite Grace to surround us in our humanness.
He Is, therefore we are safe.
We Are, therefore you are never alone.
Whether secular or religious, we cannot rely solely on ourselves.
    Grateful for the Gift.
