Back to Basics Monday

My favorite line of this is:
“Relieve me of the bondage of self, so that I may better do thy will”

  1. Yesterday I sent out an email letter expressing sorrow, grief and suffering for problems in my family and I also posted the contents of the email on a blog site which I have been visiting for several years. If anyone is interested, click

As some of you may have surmised I have spent approximately the last 3rd of my life getting to know the God of my understanding. I certainly don’t feel like I’m halfway through this process but as we have been promised, we will be amazed before we are halfway through.

    Does prayer work?
    . 🙂
    Does the God idea work?
    . 🙂
    I’m Harry, Grateful alcoholic.

  2. I trust others who lead. In the Fellowship of A.A., I entrust God with the ultimate authority of “running the show.”

Trust us what I continue to work on and not getting to far away from my daily meditations and prayer. Was at a wedding last eve and lots of guests was where I used to be, regarding king Alcohol. A good reminder that this is a cunning baffling disease. Kt

  3. My way did not work to stop my drinking and control my character defects that were hurting me and others. I had to Change. After many attempts, I finally completed and Accepted steps 1 and 2. Then I finally turned my will and life to the care of God. My change was not easy, but with the help of my sponsors, the AA fellowship, and God, I finally ACCEPTED that God was in charge not me. Daily I pray that I will do His Will Always.

  4. Took more than a little while for me to” get” this prayer.
It’s bedrock stuff now and a great grounding tool when Mr. Ego has gotten hold of the steering wheel and is on a tear.
“Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly”- just like the BB says.
    Grateful for the gift

  5. Top of the morning family,
That be a heavy metal prayer, continuation prayer of action of” faith without works is dead”. The 7th ends with Amen! Nothing left to do but surrender to His will.
Both prayers are the blue prints: How free do you want to be?
Its a good day to have a good day.
