A Special Prayer

Each of us are here for a specific purpose, there is a reason for our existence. I serve as an example of what not to do, based on my history. I am not significant in changing the history of the world. I am not significant in terms of world peace – but I work to open the minds and hearts of others seeking recovery by writing here on a daily basis. I am but a small pebble in a big pond, and it is not my job to affect the lives of millions, but to seek out others wanting recovery and share with them on a one to one basis. Because of my recovery from alcoholism through the Program of Alcoholics Anonymous, I can and do have the capacity to be of help to others.

  1. Cast a pebble into the water and see how far the ripples go!
    .
    Consider quantum physics!
    .
I’m Harry, grateful alcoholic and devoted 12th stepper.

  2. Quiet, peaceful time of day.
    My favourite.
Fresh light, new beginning and all is possible.
You remind me of my primary purpose (thanks, Bonnie) and my proper place in the incomprehensibly vast, inextricably intertwined , infinitely expanding cosmos of the present moment (thanks, Harry).
So, feet on the ground and head in the clouds, yet safe and useful.
Beats waking up smelling of alcohol, cloaked in regret.
    Grateful for the gift.

  3. Prayer for the Day

Thank you readers of this24 for the hope that is instilled in my mind of recovery and it’s well being.

I pray that I may mold my life into something useful and good. I pray that I may not be discouraged by the slow progress that I make.
