Route To Happiness

“Stick with the winners,” is a saying heard in the rooms. That means I hang with those who are sober a good amount of time, members who work the Program on a daily basis. Recovery in the program is a life altering process that lasts a lifetime. It is not something we “graduate” from. I stay sober and positive by attending meetings on a regular basis, working the Steps to the best of my ability, and adhering to the spiritual principles. When I look in my phone at my “contacts” I find the majority of those listed are A.A. members. Alcoholics Anonymous has become my route to happiness and my “sobriety family” has become my path to recovery and a positive attitude. Being of service to others is another way for me to stay positive – when I give to others, I certainly receive.

Referring to our list [inventory] again. Putting out of our minds the wrongs others had done, we resolutely looked for our own mistakes. Where had we been selfish, dishonest, self-seeking and frightened?

“A life unexamined is not worth living” –Plato commenting on Aristotle’s teachings.

    Are we blessed or not?

Are our steps, especially the 10th step a profound blessing or not?

Is my life now worth living?

Right on Sister, that be working a solid tool; for this design for successful living.

Am I listening negative to myself or talking positive with myself?
Today, I’m learning that whatever the world provides, (positions, possessions, and people) the world can and will take them back. All the graces that Divine Mercy gives can never be taken back. His forgiveness and salvation is always free…
That’s one less thingy to worry about.

It’s a good day for chips and salsa.

  3. My sponsor who helped me work the steps thoroughly after quite a few years of struggeling with self will, told me my whole life would change. Then I could not see it yet, today I see it. Most of my contacts are not my old drinking members of society. Sooo, SISTER Mary B. You are right being of service helps, thanks for your service. Kt
