Exact Nature Of Our Wrongs

Having someone to trust is very important. In the Program we use the tool of sponsorship, and the idea is to develop a relationship with one individual who can share with you their experiences in recovery. Someone you can trust to keep your confidences. Someone who will ultimately know your complete history when you were using/drinking and when you were sober and working the Program. Someone you can share your deepest secrets with, without judgment. They are more than a good friend, they are teachers, guides, and mentors. Trust is something that builds over time. Complete honesty requires effort, time and courage. Trust is a privilege and an honor – something we gain through practicing the spiritual principles.

  1. OCTOBER 2
    “THE ACID TEST”
As we work the first nine Steps, we prepare ourselves for
the adventure of a new life. But when we approach Step Ten
we commence to put our A.A. way of living to practical use,
day by day, in fair weather or foul Then comes the acid
test: can we stay sober, keep in emotional balance, and live
to good purpose under all conditions?
TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 88

We have a really good AA meeting at 8 AM at the sunrise group in Warner Robins Georgia.
Each Week On Thursday we Have a step meeting and read from the 12 and 12 as we focus on the appropriate Step and this month of course we are on step 10.
    I love step 10.
It corresponds with A discipline recommended In most spiritual programs and in one practiced by the Jesuits is called The Prayer of Examien.
One of old-timers who spoke with an accent loved to emphasize the first words of step 10: CONTINUED!
I love this idea when it comes to practicing these principles.

I’m Harry, grateful alcoholic and devoted 12 stepper.

  2. …I find it a useful reminder to read the complete detail instructions for Step 10 on page 84 of the BB. I am shown that there is a clear path to maintaining my integrity and equanimity when I choose to follow it.
    Grateful for the Gift.

  3. The searching of self in Step 4 revealed many experiences that we had hoped we had long buried. In our search, we realized how our wrong thinking and wrong action had seriously harmed us and others. We fully realized that we had to cease fighting the ghosts of yesterday. The more we think on this theme, the more urgent it is that we trip the pressure valve and let off some of our inner tensions.

We simply must talk to somebody about the list we compiled. It is very important, if we hope to be free from fear, that we be entirely honest with somebody.

    be well my fellow trudgers.
