A New Awareness

Those few who put this program together put a lot of thought and consideration in it. I believe that Bill W. and Dr. Bob were both inspired by a Higher Power. Spiritual ideals and common human frailties had to be incorporated. It was well thought out, and time again changes were made when experience demonstrated the need. Today, the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are readily accepted as the best form of recovery for the still suffering alcoholic. It is the idea of change, both mental and spiritual, combined with the practical application of the Twelve Steps, that has brought about the change in me. From a miserable, confused alcoholic to a woman who easily loves and laughs today. One who cares about the needs of others and one who works to “pass it on.” I have been raised to a new state of consciousness, I have found a new level of awareness and a new spirituality that works for me.

  1. A mind is not such a tricky thing.

It obeys the maxim of, “Garbage in, Garbage out”.

It obeys the maxim of, “Positive and Creative in, Positive and Creative out”.

I obey the maxim of, “STICK WITH THE WINNERS”.

I’m Harry, grateful alcoholic and devoted twelve stepper.

  2. Top of the midday day family,
    RE: A New Awareness
    – Where/IS Divine Mercy in my life?
    – Are “my” plans/intentions getting is His way?
    – What would happen if I quit belly aching about my human weaknesses and thanked Divine Mercy for them?

Today, I’m learning about my self.
    – My head is 50% of the problem.
    – My mouth is 50% of the problem.

Divine Mercy’s ways aren’t my ways; His plans aren’t my plans; His timing is most definitely not my timing….LOL

its a good day to have a good day.

  3. I have been coming to this web-site for 6 years now. I do not post often, but it is an important part of my day and recovery. You reach a lot of us. Here is to hoping that This24 keeps posting.

  4. When I attend an AA meeting which I do several times a week I always look forward to what everyone shares.

Even if it’s only I am Harry, I’m an alcoholic.

In the same way when I attend this online meeting I look forward to what everyone shares and as you see sometimes it’s only a Delightful few.A website demonstrates whatever life there is in it by its online participants and if no one takes the time to post anything how do we know they are there?

I would hate to see this worthwhile effort die but perhaps it must.

Someone may have to get a coffee pot and start another meeting.

I’m Harry, grateful alcoholic and devoted twelve stepper.
