Service, Service, Service

I believe in service work, particularly sponsorship of other women in the Program. Service keeps the doors open, and provides a place for both newcomer and old timer, and all those “in-betweeners” to meet and share their experience, strength and hope with each other. The Program helps us to get sober, but it is the Fellowship that keeps us in recovery.
On another note, service also comes in the form of being there when one of us is ill. We lost a very dear friend last night. She would’ve had 35 yrs in March. Her name was Amanda H. She paved the road for my spiritual journey, and will continue to guide me from Heaven. Thank you for your prayers. She is now at peace.

  1. Meditation for the Day

People are failures in the deepest sense when they seek to live without God’s sustaining power. Many people try to be self-sufficient and seek selfish pleasure and find that it does not work too well. No matter how much material wealth they acquire, no matter how much fame and material power, the time of disillusionment and futility usually comes. Death is ahead, and they cannot take any material thing with them when they go.

Then I found what I must do to help drag myself out of this morass.

    “Trust God
    Clean House
    Help Others”.

Of course this doesn’t say a word about stopping drinking but wise counsel advises that without this nothing else works.

  2. Quiet service, self transcended, manifesting the divine within, without thought of recompense…this is The Living Word…this is surely Gid’s Will…
    You bless us, Sister Bonnie

  3. Thank you for your service Bonnie. And i thank everyone on this website who help keep me sober. I love all the “Spiritual Nuggets” that i carry like a pebble in my pocket. Love to all. Namaste. Tree

  4. Sorry for your loss. I am grateful I can feel loss and sorrow. There was a time when alcohol insulated me from the world. I am now connected to others and connected to my feelings. It is a better way to live but when I hurt it really hurts.

  5. Top of the morning family,

Mountain of God by Third Day

Father Edmondo discussed once in a Eucharistic eulogy, we are all stories written by God.
Sister Bonnie, peace be with you and to all those that come into contact with you. I’m proof positive that your a better person for knowing Amanda H. Moreover, I proof positive that Amanda H was a better person for knowing you…

The truth is Divine Mercy, stay, and you’ll have no fear.
It’s a good day to know that we will live forever in His presence.
