Many in the Program begin their days in prayer, and while I cannot claim a formal prayer, I can say that my conversations with God are always a beginning for me.  I am not alone when I sit down to my computer and begin to type.  I believe that my Higher Power is there, sitting beside me. I write these “daily’s” in the hope of improving my recovery and it is my desire to be of  help to others in their struggle.  I am not a professional writer, just another alcoholic looking for better comprehension of what it means to be sober, and live a life of recovery.

I thought God might be willing to listen to reason, so I worked up a proposal that outlined some of my many concerns. My primary objective in that twenty page thesis of sheer elegance, that I was hoping might impress Him, could be distilled into this one, a bit long-winded hoot:

That you— God— would never be any less furry, and always as accessible and loving as my cat; and like her, sleep with your head on my shoulder.

And, of course, don’t forget the purrrrrrrrr!. — Hafiz.

I do believe that my loving God might like this.

I’m Harry, grateful alcoholic and devoted twelve stepper.

  2. Thank you for you’re service sister. People may not always respond, but your dailys get read and help others.

  3. Yes, thank you for your daily shares. I don’t share/respond often enough but this site has been big part of my morning routine for years. Grateful for you all.
