Keep It Simple

Resentment is anger that we don’t want to turn over to our Higher Power. Sometimes we want to keep our anger. Maybe we want to “get even.” it’s hard to be spiritual and full of anger at the same time. When we hold on to anger, it turns into self-will. We get angry from time to time. This is normal. But we now have a program to help us let go of anger. We also know that stored-up anger can drive us back to alcohol and other drugs. Instead of trying to “get even,” let’s work at keeping anger out of our hearts.

  1. To stay out of anger and resentment you have to stay close to your Higher Power. Just like sobriety, you cant do it on your own. Love to all, Tree

    • From keeping God in the small stuff.
“Keep in mind that the devil doesn’t need your rage to do his dirty work. It’s the little things that do the most damage: sarcastic comments, cutting remarks, babackbiting, undermining and lying, all of what you can do with a smile on your face and anger in your heart this is the kind of anger that is the most destructive because it’s out before you know it or Worse, without your even noticing. But others notice and so do G-d and the devil. So keep a lid on your anger or deal with it as soon as you are aware of what you’ve done.”
” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry for anger gives a mighty foothold to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26- 27

  2. Thanks for the shares and input on resentments, I found myself in a situation where a resentment surfaced very fast today. I always think about alcohol being cunning baffling and powerful and here it is, resentment is the same.
Sneaks right upon me, so I need to follow the aa suggestions, identify the resentment , (inventory) then be willing to make amends, prayer help me with these matters. So thanks again for your shares I needed to see it and hear it. Plus I get to go to a meeting tonight and God knows I need that. Blessings to our group. Kt
